The folders are selections of records in specific sub-themes. This functions like a pre-search that selects a sub-set of records on a specific theme. These folders are defined by the working group. They are used to highlight a subject of capitalisation.

The records contained in the folders are also accessible via the "complete database" entry point. The difference is that when using the "complete database" entry point, the data is not set apart from the rest of the database and must be found using a keyword search.
