Can the database be used in languages other than French and English?
|
The
InterDev database is bilingual (French and English) at this time. We plan
to add Spanish and/or Portuguese in the framework of future developments
after the database has been fully implemented. Its adaptation to use in
other languages will also be determined by users' requests. Additional languages
will be studied in function of the future partners' needs and the working
groups that will be established.

Can one enter data into the database without using the InterDev tools,
from a Word form, for example?
|
A
data import module in EML that can be generated by an Excel file is included
in the database. It is currently only available for network partners. It
notably allows data to be transferred between different InterDev databases.
We plan to include a data entry form (in standard text format) in future
versions of the database. All of the information service's users will be
able to download this form.

Can
one cooperate with InterDev without being a member (if, for example, one
does not want to commit to inputting a specific amount of data in the database)?
|
Different
types of cooperation are possible.
- Links can be established with other information
systems. All requests of this type are welcome. The modalities of how the
two systems can cooperate will be studied individually for each request.
Possibilities include a simple link to the other information system and/or
data exchange procedures.
- Any person or organisation that wishes to
contribute information to InterDev on occasion (an experience, an organisation
record, etc.) can send the information and request its inclusion in the
InterDev database. The request should be sent to the coordinator for the
theme in question who is in charge of validating information before its
entry into the database. A data entry form will be made available on the
site at a later date to facilitate this type of occasional contribution.

What
should one do if one wants to use the information system for a theme other
than the currently available themes?
|
Any
organisations or groups of organisations can, if they wish, can request
the creation of a new theme within InterDev. In this case, the new thematic
group will have to get organised, appoint a theme coordinator, and define
its operating rules and the rules governing collecting and treating information
for the theme in question.
All requests of this type should be sent to the overall project coordinator.
