About the Organisation
An international solidarity association, founded in 1975 at the instigation of the main agricultural organisations in France, AFDI mobilises French agricultural professionals and their organisations to support rural development in developing countries. In Madagascar, AFDI provides support to Malagasy farmers' organisations and farmers in nine regions, supporting agricultural development. It acts in three favoured fields: technical aspects (production and commercialisation), institutional aspects (agricultural policy in Madagascar), and socio-organisational aspects. Its direct activities are support-advice services in farm management, facilitation of farmers’ access to services (relations with input suppliers, etc.), and professional structuring support by running and managing group projects and moderating exchanges.
