About the Organisation
ETC International is a consultancy group, established in 1974 as a not-for-profit but market-oriented organisation, specialised in development programmes. It has offices in six countries: Kenya, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, India, Sri Lanka and Peru. ETC's main areas of expertise are sustainable agriculture and natural resource use, renewable energy systems, rural development, public health programmes, and rural water supply and sanitation. ETC's main objective has been to encourage and support those local initiatives that support sustainable development. ETC accomplishes this by: making available expertise and know-how for development programmes; acting as intermediary between international assistance agencies and organisations serving the development interests ; providing services in training, information exchange, consultancy and project management.
